Ministry to the Unemployed

Out of work? Ready for a job or industry change? Come to our unique
career-counseling program. The Support Group for the Unemployed
came into being, January 1980, to minister to all people. All are welcome! Support is provided without any fee. The support concentrates on the problems that arise from unemployment. A combination of prayer and professional advice has produced positive results for many. The program starts by determining goals, reviewing resumes, networking and interviewing skills.

Ministries to the Homeless
Family Promise Family Shelter

(formerly the Inter-religious Fellowship, Overflow Shelter for the Homeless)
OLM hosts up to four (4) families for two weeks each year as part of Family Promise of Bergen County.  Please consider volunteering for the Family Promise Family Shelter at OLM.  Consider inviting your friends to join you as hosts for an evening.  We are being supported in this ministry at OLM by the following area congregations:  Our Lady of the Visitation, Paramus; Prince of Peace, Old Tappan; First Congregational Church, Park Ridge.  Although the name has changed to Family Promise, the ministry is the same and truly remains an inter-faith hospitality network supporting homeless families in our area.

Respect Life Ministry
This ministry focuses on educating parishioners about the issues that
are negatively impacting our culture: abortion, promiscuity, mercy killing (euthanasia), the so-called "right to die" and the "right to suicide." It encourages life-giving support to those with an unplanned pregnancy, those who are terminally ill or in a desperate state of mind, and the disabled or handicapped. It promotes chastity (abstinence and sexual integrity) The Ministry stresses all the positive aspects of the "Culture of Life" as promulgated by the Vatican. Part of its outreach is to support and help publicize Pregnancy Resource Centers such as Birthright, New Hope, Inc. and Several Sources and to work hand-in-hand with the Knights of Columbus Respect Life team. For more information contact Thanks so much for your consideration of including this vital service to all who are made "in the image and likeness of God" and to those who would like to serve in this rewarding ministry.
